Motivation and recognition of teachers in order to foster Erasmus mobility of students
Vilnius 17-18 March 2006

The Lithuanian Socrates National Agency is pleasured to invite You to the fourth European seminar in the framework of “GenERAtion” dissemination project. This seminar “Motivation and recognition of teachers in order to foster Erasmus mobility of students” will take place on 17-18 March, 2006 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The main objective of the seminar is to find and identify the best national and institutional frameworks and methodologies in respect with the international educational activities of teachers, which play an important role in their carrier development. It is an evident thesis: the more reluctant teachers are the less student mobility takes place at department. The attitude and motivation of teachers is a crucial point for the mobility of students. Moreover, student’s views on teaching staff mobility, their needs and gains could be one of motivating factors for teachers.
During the seminar the examples of good practices on institutional policies focused on findings a balance between research and educational activities of teachers will be introduced and discussed.
The discussions and proposals on the new Life Long Learning programme, emphasized on the new types of teacher staff mobility such as long term mobility, mobility in cooperation with enterprises will be organised as well. The representative of the European Commission is going to take parting the seminar and present the changes of the teaching staff mobility in the new programme.
The seminar is targeted at representatives of higher education institutions and National Agencies/Authorities from all European countries. The costs related to the participation will be covered according to financial rules of the project.
The deadline for registration is 28 February, 2006.
