The office of the Alumni for Europe Network (AfE) operates in the framework of Tempus Public Foundation, as a horizontal organizational unit. Its role is to realise the mission of the Network.
Objectives
The Alumni for Europe Network aims at
- giving assistance to Erasmus, Comenius, Leonardo, CEEPUS, Erasmus Mundus or World-Language grantholders in building an interactive network,
- helping foreign grantholders in Hungary get used to this country and enjoy their scholarship by organizing
programmes and events, - letting foreign and Hungarian students get to know other cultures and give an opportunity to learn different
languages from one another, - contributing to the employment of graduate students by advising and by establishing contact with
employers, - helping future scholars in the preparation for their studies with orientation and training,
- giving information about educational and training programmes coordinated by TPF, and about further
potential scholarships.
Activities
Networks
In order to exchange information Alumni for Europe Network offers forum for its members:
- by organizing events, trainings;
- by constructing a mailing list.
Communication
- The AfE keeps in touch with the members of the network by e-mail and organizes events regularly.
- The publications of the AfE Network are as follows: the regularly updated website, the @lumni newsletter (available both in English and in Hungarian version) sent monthly to the members of the network by e-mail. A password-protected mailing list provides for the internal communication of the members.
- The AfE encourages establishing direct and informal contacts with other participants in the network and supports initiative activities.
Services
We provide the following services for the scholars coming to Hungary:
- organization of events (e.g. cultural events, excursions, film club, etc.);
- distribution of Users' Guide to Hungary;
- giving some further information concerning Hungary;
- guidance of students by Hungarian members of the AfE Network;
- providing information for solving your problems concerning to Hungary.
Fundraising
In order to realise the aims of the AfE network the Tempus Public Foundation applies for grants and is grateful to receive donations of companies or individuals, offers of 1% of income-taxes and money raised by charitable events.
