Erasmus Mundus Programme supports academic excellence and the attractiveness of Europe’s higher education worldwide and fosters cooperation with targeted third countries with the objective of contributing to their development.

Erasmus Mundus offers:

  • Grants to higher education institutions to offer joint programmes at masters and doctoral level
  • Scholarships to students to study at Erasmus Mundus Master Courses and Joint Doctoral Programmes
  • Mobility flows and scholarships of students and academics between European and non-European higher education institutions at all level of study (former Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window - ECW)

Selected Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses and ECW consortia are published on the European Commission's website and on the site of the national Erasmus Mundus National Structures (in Hungary: Tempus Public Foundation). The first group of Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Programmes will be launched in the academic year 2010/2011.

Application and admittance will vary depending on specific courses. Once you have been admitted, you will be expected to study in at least two different European institutions over a period of one or two years (Masters) or three years (Doctoral) to obtain a double, multiple or joint diploma at the end of your studies.
